Audley Recreation Centre & Library
Ajax, Ontario
The Audley Recreation Centre and Park Complex adds 55 acres to an existing 45-acre sports field, with the park offering a dense and wide-ranging program that balances active and passive year-round opportunities for the community. Fundamental to our landscape approach was recognizing the site’s role within the regional and environmentally sensitive Oak Ridges Moraine watershed. The first step was therefore a protection phase that involved consultation with biologists and the provision of a temporary, onsite relocation of local amphibian wildlife while the wetland was restored.
