Dan Kronby
Principal | OAA PMP LEED AP RAIC
Dedicated to ensuring that the quality of a project is maintained from start to finish, Dan is a gifted Project Manager who brings a steady hand and methodical approach to design and construction processes. He especially enjoys working with clients and team members to take on the challenges posed by complex projects. Highlights of his work include the McMaster University Student Activity Building, and the Walker Sports and Abilities Centre at Canada Games Park. These projects bring together multiple stakeholders and programming in buildings that also incorporate state-of-the-art accessibility strategies throughout, with their design and construction resulting in coordination and technical demands that suit Dan’s love of tackling challenges with rational and elegant solutions. This is also evident in his work on the Neil Campbell Rowing Centre, MJMA’s first Canadian Green Building Council Zero-Carbon Building-certified project. The design uses an innovative mass timber structural system to achieve exceptional integration of the building within a site of deep historical and natural significance. With all his projects, and as a lifelong multi-sport athlete, Dan brings empathy and enthusiasm to making spaces that promote health and wellness for persons of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities.
Dan obtained a Bachelor of Science from the University of Western Ontario and both a Bachelor of Environmental Design and Master of Architecture from Dalhousie University. Prior to joining MJMA in 2004, he gained experience through a range of project types in Toronto, Vancouver, and Oakland, California. He has also volunteered with Habitat for Humanity on home-building missions in Kenya and Ecuador.
