Newton Community Centre and Library
Surrey, British Columbia
Designed to be constructed in two phases, the Newton Community Aquatic Centre brings highly anticipated aquatic, recreational, and cultural amenities to the Newton community in Surrey, British Columbia. The facility fulfills the pressing need for essential services and inclusive social spaces in an underserved area of the city that is also experiencing rapid growth.
With a design shaped through extensive collaboration with residents, the new complex builds community identity by providing accessibility and well-being for all. A key aspect of these ambitions is how the project realizes the City of Surrey’s exemplary sustainability vision and strategic long-term goals, targeting both the Canadian Green Building Council Zero-Carbon Building designation and Passive House Certification.
