Philippa Swartz

Philippa is an architect who is able to translate program requirements and a client’s vision into built environments that are at once pragmatic, long-lasting, and meaningful to their communities. With wide-ranging expertise that includes negotiating the challenges posed by complex renovations and additions, she enjoys problem-solving across all project stages. Phillipa is particularly interested in the integration of architecture and experiential design and embraces collaboration with other disciplines in our studio. Long-committed to advancing equity and the inclusion of Indigeneity in design, she is also a member of MJMA’s Truth and Reconciliation Action Group (TRAction). Phillipa has a Bachelor and Master of Architecture from McGill University. She joined MJMA in 2025, bringing a decade of experience with work that includes public and academic architecture.
