Matt Lamers
Associate | OAA
Matt has contributed to and led many of MJMA’s most complex campus and community projects. These are proof of his ability to produce detail-oriented design that is carefully crafted and often technically innovative. He embraces the collaborative creativity of design both within our team-oriented practice and in coordinating with clients and contractors, to meet the challenges that can arise at any point through design and construction. More recently, he has also brought his problem-solving and leadership skills to feasibility, development, and land-use studies, as well as public-space projects that encompass landscape architecture, urban design, and planning. A highly experienced architect, he enjoys tackling the challenges posed by multiuse recreational and sports complexes, which typically combine different environments and call for robust materials. He is dedicated to elevating these functional typologies into social amenities that are expressive of their place and that will anchor their communities for years to come.
Matt has a Bachelor of Science in Structural Engineering and a Master of Architecture from the University of Calgary. He joined us in 2013 after working at studios in his home city of Calgary, on projects that included urban public spaces and infrastructure buildings.
