Maryam Mohajer
Associate | OAA LEED GA
Always prioritizing the highest technical standards, Maryam has been a key contributor to achieving the design vision of MJMA’s projects. Maryam’s specialty in building envelope design is particularly crucial to MJMA’s projects, which typically involve complex and overlapping programming. She has brought her wide-ranging expertise to a many of our community and campus projects. Highlights include the East Lions Community Centre and the College Downsview Campus Centre for Aerospace and Aviation. These exemplify her drive to achieve the best-crafted solutions, with spaces that are robust, environmentally responsible, and beautiful — places that will serve their communities and bring people together for years to come. She is a life-long painter, and her work as an architect maintains a sensibility that employs the affective use of space, light, and materials. Maryam has also combined her love of architecture with her passionate belief that improving access to education (especially for girls) is key to better societies by working with HAMI, a non-profit that builds schools in underserved areas of her native Iran.
Maryam obtained a Master of Architecture from the University of Tehran, followed by experience working on mixed-use residential projects, institutional buildings, and recreational and community centres — first in Tehran and subsequently at numerous studios in Toronto. She first joined MJMA in 2015.
