Jon Ackerley

M.ARCH

Jon is dedicated to advancing the positive social benefits of architecture and embraces the opportunity to create multipurpose facilities that become cornerstones of their communities. With a background in planning and motivated to make the most of technical advances in sustainable design, he is also keen to develop the relationships between these complexes and their sites — the ways they enhance their natural and civic contexts, and the potential of a building to create infrastructure that further unifies the community. Jon has a Bachelor of Environmental Studies in Planning from the University of Waterloo and a Master of Architecture from the University of British Columbia, earning a 2022 Canadian Architect Student Award of Excellence for his thesis. Before joining MJMA in 2023, he worked at a variety of architecture, urban planning, and landscape architecture studios in Toronto.
