Caileigh MacKellar
Senior Associate | OAA LEED AP
Caileigh is a core member of the Interiors Architecture team at MJMA. She is dedicated to elevating the everyday experience of social spaces through design; her goal is to always provide the most functional, sustainable, and meaningful solutions, no matter the project’s budget, size, and complexity.
Able to work deftly across all project phases, Caileigh brings deep technical knowledge and a natural ease to collaborating with clients, contractors, and team members. She has expertise in community and recreational projects as well as campus architecture, including the Princeton University Class of 1986 Fitness and Wellness Center and the Branksome Hall Innovation Centre and Studio Theatre, the latter a complex providing leading-edge technology and spaces for teaching an innovative interdisciplinary curriculum at an independent day and boarding school. Both projects negotiated constrained sites and respond meaningfully to heritage conditions; their success speaks to Caileigh’s skills at clearly communicating and maintaining the design vision while shepherding a coordinated delivery process. Caileigh is also an accomplished ceramicist and weaver — arts that, with architecture, allow her to exercise her love for craft, detail, and design at all scales.
Caileigh has an Honors Bachelor of Architectural Studies from the University of Waterloo and a Master of Architecture from McGill University. Before coming to MJMA in 2015, she gained experience at firms in the UK, US, and Toronto, working on a wide range of project types, including commercial, hospitality, residential, and community architecture.
