Bahia Marks

M.ARCH

Bahia’s deep commitment to community engagement and participatory design informs every decision she makes as a designer. She joined MJMA in 2022, drawn to the studio’s focus on public design and collaborative, interdisciplinary processes both within the studio and with the communities we serve. Skilled across the architectural process, she contributes to both project work and research. She has played an integral role in developing an embodied carbon framework for the studio and is an active member of the Sustainability Action Committee. Bahia obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Architectural Studies from Mount Holyoke College and a Master of Architecture from the University of Toronto, garnering numerous academic awards. She has worked in studios in Toronto, New York, and Haifa, in addition to being a grassroots community organizer and outreach leader for youth groups in New York City, a vocation she continues as a volunteer in Toronto’s St. Jamestown neighbourhood.
