Andrew Bramm
Associate | OAA
Andrew’s core motivation is to produce design that is clear, elegant, well-crafted, and environmentally responsive — buildings that are thoughtfully detailed and that will add value to their communities for years to come. Andrew’s wide-ranging portfolio has largely focused on community architecture. Highlights include the Smith Athletic Park in the Township of Langley, BC, a major sports complex comprised of three artificial turf fields and a FIFA-sized indoor field enclosed by a mass timber structure. Working with structural engineers, Andrew helped develop the arched design, one that achieves an efficient, low-carbon solution. The East Hants Aquatic Centre in Nova Scotia also demonstrates Andrew’s commitment to architecture that is function-driven yet attractive, durable, energy-efficient, and able to meet current and future community needs. Andrew and his team worked closely with the client to use local resources wherever possible; this includes the exposed timber roof in the aquatics hall, which uses wood harvested and fabricated nearby the project site.
Andrew has a Bachelor of Design focused on Industrial Design from the University of Edmonton and a Master of Architecture from the University of Calgary. He joined MJMA in 2015, after extensive experience in Calgary and Toronto, with work that included student housing and commercial and healthcare projects.
