Ted has led a broad range of community recreation, residential, and post secondary academic projects – all of which share a consistence recognition for design excellence and high user satisfaction. His design contribution has helped to initiate a new generation of public architecture, which show sympathy for heightening the user experience by engaging the site and neighborhood context, activating the pedestrian realm, and prioritizing sustainable development. With an emphasis on developing bold and simple concepts, Ted's work on multi-use facilities is characterized by the programming the public spaces 'in-between', creating a dynamic ‘Social Heart’ amongst programs and elevating community interaction. Ted brings a mature project delivery pragmatism and warm affability. Working locally and in the U.S., Ted leads work throughout Western Canada and internationally. A frequent lecturer and academic participant, he is the firm’s library specialist and active committee member and presenter with the Ontario Library Association.
 
Raised in Vancouver and educated in Calgary, Ted provides distinctive West Coast design and environmental thoughtfulness to the firm's architectural discourse. Upon graduating Ted received the AIA Gold Medal for Excellence in the Study of Architecture.  He holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of British Columbia, a Masters of Architecture from the University of Calgary, a Part 3 Certification from the University College London's Bartlett School of Architecture UK, and is a registered LEED accredited professional.  Ted joined MJMA in 1996, becoming a partner in 2009.
