The Centre is a community destination, public amenity, and landmark, situated within an MJMA-designed, 50-acre, linear park running northwest–southeast between a suburban residential area and rural fields at the southwestern edge of Mississauga. Rotated 45 degrees relative to the diagonal urban grid, the Centre’s four walls face the four cardinal directions, making the structure an orientation device and the focal point of the park.
 
The park comprises a series of leisure and fitness spaces, including multiple soccer fields and basketball courts that are aligned with the Centre for optimal solar orientation. These amenities are also spread across a richly textured landscape whose small rolling hills, made from reclaimed topsoil, offer elevated seating to spectators. A walking trail around the perimeter of the park passes by environmental stewardship zones, a protected wetland, and stormwater management pond, while also connecting the park to the fabric of the existing neighbourhood and trail network.
 
The 75,000-square-foot Centre, positioned at the southeast end of the site, appears to rest on the landscape. On approach, the crystalline exterior reveals a spacious interior topped by an open structure of massive, wood glulam beams that act as barriers to light and sound. A deep overhang along the western side of the structure, facing the soccer fields, provides shade for both interior and exterior, while the south end is deeply cantilevered to further shelter both bike parking and the primary entrance.
 
Inside, the Centre contains leisure and lap pools, a triple gymnasium, a teaching kitchen, and multi-purpose rooms, as well as park-facing public washrooms. A changing area and a service bar flank the pool and gym areas, which are fully glazed to offer views into the heart of the park and are protected from heat gain by the expanded aluminum mesh–clad overhang.
 
Gym, lobby, and pool are grouped together beneath an elastic membrane covering an undulating ceiling, with deep skylights that rise above the roofline. On the interior, this sculpted ceiling absorbs noise and diffuses daylight, to eliminate glare and excessive heat gain, while also giving the interior an ethereally lit cavern-like quality.
