Intermediate & Senior Level Environmental Graphic Designer
MJMA is continually developing the integration of its various disciplines – we believe holistic design is necessary to meet the complex needs of modern, diverse communities. We are seeking both an Intermediate and Senior Designer to join our Graphics and Communications Design Team and growing 75-person interdisciplinary Toronto studio. Our integrated design studio incorporates Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Interior Design, Graphic Design, and Public Engagement – working together to design clear, bold, and inclusive public spaces that strengthen communities and the environment.
Our studio is a collaborative and dynamic environment with a commitment to being a great place to work and to foster professional growth of the individual. We like to have fun and not take ourselves too seriously. This role requires a creative and critical thinker, with the confidence and experience to drive conceptual ideas to built reality. We are currently operating in a flexible, hybrid office working model.
What You Will Do:
You will be working closely and collaboratively with studio leadership and design teams to lead and develop integrated signage and wayfinding; place-making and visual identity strategies through environmental graphics; brand strategies and guidelines – both internally and externally; support color and material strategies; develop community engagement programs; and strengthen accessibility and inclusivity.
What You Bring:
Ideally, you bring directly relevant experience in:
- leading projects and teams providing creative vision, study development, drawing and detailing, and execution support of final deliverables;
- presenting to clients;
- managing schedules and deliverables;
- coordinating with printers, fabricators, and installers; and
- providing mentorship of team members.
You must demonstrate a passion for design excellence and innovation, and be a strong communicator and strategic thinker. You must be willing to engage in the open and collaborative environment of the studio with a generosity of spirit.
Please provide PDFs of your CV, portfolio, and cover letter letting us know why this position interests you and why you are the ideal candidate by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org with the subject line “Intermediate or Senior Designer”. We thank all applicants for their interest, however note that only those selected for interview will be contacted.
