MJMA is seeking a ‘Marketing Specialist’ to join our growing 80-person interdisciplinary Toronto studio, focused on design excellence in public projects. As a ‘Marketing Specialist’, you will work within the ‘COMSS’ Team (Communications, Operations, Marketing, Strategy, and Storytelling) – as well as part of the larger integrated design studio of Architecture, Urban Design, Landscape Architecture, Interior Design, Experiential Graphic Design, and Engagement – all aimed at delivering full service, holistic design solutions. This role requires an organized and proactive doer, who has the confidence to bring a fresh perspective to our team.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES
Working closely and collaboratively with the COMSS team and studio leadership, the primary responsibility and focus of the position is to support the development of creative, compelling, and engaging proposal responses for local, national, and international project pursuits. This includes:
  • Research, track, and evaluate project and collaboration opportunities;
  • Coordinate copy-writing, editing, and graphic design layouts for production of proposal submissions;
  • Coordinate input from internal team members and out-of-house consultants;
  • Track submission outcomes, coordinate debriefs, and ensure feedback influences future pursuits; and
  • Work in a highly collaborative environment with a team looking to streamline processes, refresh current approaches, and increase impact.

In addition to proposal responses, responsibilities include:

  • Update and revitalize current marketing and proposal resources such as resumes, project profiles, and project databases;
  • ​Research, coordinate, and develop firm and project communication efforts through customized books, awards submissions, press kits, advertisements, speaking engagements, and publication outreach;
  • Coordinate photography and video documentation for completed projects; and
  • Assist with digital marketing including upkeep of website and social media channels.
QUALIFICATIONS & KEY REQUIREMENTS
  • Experience in a marketing role (and proposal process) within a design studio is a must.
  • The ideal candidate will have a degree in either Marketing/Communications, English, Architecture, Interiors, or Graphic Design, or related design field.
  • Demonstrated multi-tasking abilities and can work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong organizational, planning, time management and prioritization skills.
  • Responsive, assertive, resourceful, and self-motivated.
  • Able to work independently, seek input, and ask for help from team members when needed.
  • Strong writing, editing, or graphic skills are a must.
  • Advanced user in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office Suite.
