A year-round facility, the Emera Centre serves as the central hub for important community activities. On a highly visible site near a major highway, but accessed from a county collector road, the new facility is the primary community centre for this region of South Shore Nova Scotia. This new recreational, social and cultural hub for Queens County provides residents access to high-quality sports and recreation amenities for health and wellness.
The Emera Centre includes a 900 seat NHL-sized ice pad with walking track, fitness centre, community multipurpose rooms and banquet hall. An aquatic centre with a 25metre lap pool and separate therapy leisure pool is designed to connect efficiently and seamlessly as a later phase.
