Contract Administrator

MJMA is seeking a ‘Contract Administrator’ to join our growing 70-person interdisciplinary Toronto studio, focused on design excellence in public projects. Recipients of the RAIC Firm Award, our integrated design studio incorporates Architecture, Urban Design, Landscape Architecture, Interior Design, and Environmental Graphic Design, all aimed at delivering full service, holistic design solutions. Our office is a collaborative and dynamic work environment with a commitment to being a great place to work and to fostering professional growth of the individual. This role requires an organized and proactive doer, who has the confidence to bring a fresh perspective to our team.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Professional Degree in Architecture or Architectural Technology.
  • Experience administering various construction contracts (CCDC) in an architectural office setting.
  • Technical understanding of building since and construction. Experience with Arena and Aquatics building types is an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of the OBC
  • Computer literacy in AutoCAD, Revit, and administrative software.
  • Experience with Bluebeam and Newforma is an asset.
  • Hold a valid driver’s license.

The successful candidate must demonstrate a passion for design excellence and innovation, be a strong communicator on-site as well as in the office, and help mentor junior staff through the admin process. You must be highly motivated, organized, assertive, and most importantly, willing to engage in the open and collaborative environment of the office. You must also be able to work independently, seek input, and ask for help from team members when needed. We are interested in individuals who are constantly looking to improve quality, play a role in innovation, and strive to learn and research materials, details, and best practice solutions.

RESPONSIBILITIES 
This role is the third dedicated CA person at MJMA and will assist in performing traditional field and office CA duties, but through the lens of pursuing design excellence in the realization of high-quality public buildings and execution of thoughtful details. We are interested in individuals who are excited for the opportunity to develop and help consolidate and standardize CA procedures and protocols for the office as whole – in an effort to continually improve quality control measures. The successful candidate will work closely with the firm’s partners, associates and design teams, and work within a CA team to participate in QA/QC processes in drawings and specifications.
